Vincenzo Guerrazzi in English
To understand the paintings of Vincent Guerrazzi need to go back to his existential stance against the traditions and stereotypes imposed by the tradition of power “bourgeois”. In the 70s he was the author of the brave “books investigation, if it showed a great capacity for provocation and with political insight. He then transferred the same intellectual effort in painting from an early age where he showed a particular provision: it was inevitable that did his art tool irreverent reinterpretation of idols and collective myths.
In his paintings Guerrazzi has not only shown images of power, but the socket that this has on the community in a given historical moment. Hers is a merciless chronicle of events of each day disrespectful seen with the eye of the artist.
In its description – or more often anticipate – the story of his time, Guerrazzi has never repeated the same subject indefinitely, as is the rule for most artists, and his unique appearance makes him escape the usual traditional classifications of critics, although many excellent things have been written on his painting. The definition is to use more realist painter – even if what he paints is not exactly the reality that people would like to see painted.
His paintings have therefore a high educational value: they are made to think, and not for the rest of the brain.
Guerrazzi develops its location in main areas, closely linked. In each of these strands is a recognizable stage in the history of the country and, together, the artistic maturation of Guerrazzi.
